James Bonner LMSW, MBA

James Bonner is the Sr. Director of Safety and Patient Experience at Spectrum Health.   He leads a team that partners with leaders throughout the organization to enhance experience of colleagues and customers.   The team represents a diverse group of individuals that provide expertise in Safety and Experience Improvement, Patient Relations, Ethics, Patient Education, Patient and Family Advisory Councils, and Shared Decision Making for the System.  

James is passionate about ensuring that patients and families are central to how care is delivered.   Listening for and activating the voice of the patient in all aspects of care is essential for the healthcare to be effective.   

James received his Bachelors from Calvin College, his Masters in Social Work from Western Michigan University, and his Executive MBA at Grand Valley State University. In his free time, he enjoys time with family and anything outdoors.
