Lisa Filbert

Chief of Staff Johns Hopkins Health System

Mrs. Lisa Filbert is a health care leader dedicated to improving quality, safety and patient experience in a variety of health care settings, such acute care, outpatient, transitional care, chronic care and long term care.  She is a registered nurse that has served as a clinician, hospital administrator, post-acute care administrator and is currently the chief of staff at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.  

Mrs. Filbert received her nursing diploma at St. Joseph’s Hospital, her bachelor of science in nursing and master of science in health care administration at Towson State University in Maryland. She is also a licensed nursing home administrator for the state of Maryland. Ms. Filbert holds certifications in patient safety, patient experience and lean six sigma black belt.

In her diverse role as chief of staff, she oversees the operations of executive offices, strategic planning activities and several departments including patient experience, Patient and Family Advisory Council, interpreter services, volunteer program and inpatient pharmacy.  Additionally, she supports organizational priorities and initiatives, such as high reliability/patient safety, lean daily management, leadership development and employee engagement.

Mrs. Filbert is married with 2 children (boy/girl twins) who are now teenagers. She loves travel, beaches, exercise, crafts, reading, videography, but mostly hanging out with friends and family. She is delighted and appreciative of being a part of this conference and looking forward to learning from others.
