Seona Goerndt

Director, Office of Patient Experience Metro Health

Seona (pronounced Shona) Goerndt’s purpose is to improve the patient, provider and payer experience. She enjoys working with providers, work teams and cross-functional leadership groups, as well as patients and their families to identify areas of opportunity to improve the collective experience across the health care continuum. Seona has served as a health care leader for 15+ years with an emphasis on improving system performance and program implementations to better serve our patients, visitors and the community. Seona’s leadership experience includes: inpatient, outpatient and ancillary services, as well as health plan operations and administration. In February, 2018, Seona joined the MetroHealth System in the role of Patient Experience Director. In this role, she focuses on improved outcomes and experience by engaging patients, family members, providers and clinical staff to identify areas of opportunity and create solutions to address issues, small and large. Prior to joining MetroHealth, Seona worked for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Ohio and HealthSpan Integrated Care. Through these organizations, she served in many leadership roles, including: Director of Ancillary and Support Services, Director of Strategic Performance and Organizational Excellence and Executive Director of Administration. In addition to Seona’s professional responsibilities, she serves in several volunteer leadership roles including: the ACHE of Northern Ohio Board as Committee Chair of Marketing; Recovery Resources Development, Marketing and Community Relations Chair and leads the Women@Metro Patient Retention and Networking committee. Seona earned an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University, and a B.A. in Human Resource Development from Notre Dame College. Seona is a Certified Patient Experience Professional through the Beryl Institute.
