Dr. Beeson began his career as a family medicine physician with the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group in San Diego in 1994. In 2001, Sharp HealthCare selected him as medical director for the "Sharp Experience," focused on exceptional care and experiences for patients and care teams. He worked for more than a decade to design, develop, and deploy a system-wide skill development approach to transform culture, deliver results, and bring the Sharp Experience to life. During his tenure, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group reduced clinician attrition by over 80%, increased clinician engagement above the 95th percentile, and advanced patient experience from the 6th to the 93rd percentile. Dr. Beeson personally achieved scores in the 99th percentile for a decade straight. He has authored two best-selling books: Practicing Excellence: A Physician's Manual to Exceptional Healthcare and Engaging Physicians: A Manual to Physician Partnership. In 2013, he founded Practicing Excellence to help organizations scale skill building and drive measurable results. Practicing Excellence has supported tens of thousands of clinicians, teams, and leaders across the U.S. and produced over 15 case studies.
