Laura Budinick, Psy.D. is the Vice President of Behavioral Health and Experience at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. In her role she is responsible for overseeing the Behavioral Health continuum of care and the patient and employee experience programs which are designed to enhance safety, respond to critical incidents, improve patient experience, and overall team functioning. Dr. Budinick places a strong emphasis on delivering high quality services, including multidisciplinary evaluation, comprehensive treatment recommendations, strong family involvement, and focused communication regarding care and treatment goals.
In 2005 Dr Budinick received her Doctorate in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Metropolitan Campus, New Jersey. She is certified as a school psychologist and has extensive experience in educational and clinical arenas. She has provided consultation, workshops on mental illness and treatment processes. Additionally, she has provided direct services to a variety of systems to address difficult emotional and behavioral issues. She has specific expertise in the areas of staff support and "burnout".
Dr Budinick is a Chairwoman on the NJHA Behavioral Health Constituency Group which promotes and provides advocacy and best practice agendas for Behavioral Health Services throughout the state of NJ as well as nationally. She is a Board Member of the Calais School which provides Education and Special Services to K-12th graders in NJ. She is also a member of the Board for COPE Center, a non-profit agency that focuses on individual a community based issues related to substance abuse in Montclair NJ.
